The person behind the site

Who writes this guide

There is no anonymous content farm behind santiago.es: one person writes it, signs every page, and answers for what it says.

Cesar Rodriguez, editor of santiago.es

I'm Cesar Rodriguez

I edit santiago.es: I write the guides, keep the data current, and sign every page with my name. This site doesn't belong to any travel-content network and it doesn't rewrite what other sites publish; when a page says “verified in August 2026”, it means that month someone — me — actually checked the information.

How the information gets verified

Each kind of data has its source and its method, always the same:

  • Opening hours and prices: checked against the official source (the Cathedral of Santiago, TUSSA, Aena, Renfe, the Pilgrim's Office), always marked as indicative, with the date of the last review.
  • Restaurants, albergues and shops: when a business confirms its details directly with me, its listing carries the “Verified” badge. When a place closes, it leaves the guide; it has happened before and it will happen again.
  • Camino figures: official statistics from the Pilgrim's Office, with the reference year always visible.

Where to find me

These are my public profiles, in case you want to check that I exist — or just say hello:
