# Camino Stage Planner

Preparing your Camino

Three ready-made plans for the most walked stretch of the whole Camino, splitting the Sarria–Santiago walk into 5, 6 or 7 stages — or build your own below with a different starting point, day count or pace.

This tool covers the most walked stretch of the whole Camino: the **roughly 115 km** between Sarria and Santiago that meet the minimum distance the Compostela requires on the Camino Francés. If you're walking a different route — the Portugués, the Inglés, the Primitivo — or the full Francés from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, this won't help you much: see [every Camino route compared](https://santiago.es/en/camino-de-santiago/routes) to plan that stretch instead. And if you have two full weeks rather than just these last days, we cover [how to split the Camino over two weeks](https://santiago.es/en/camino-de-santiago/two-weeks).

Ready-made plans

**[From Sarria in 5 stages](https://santiago.es/en/camino-de-santiago/planner/from-sarria-in-5-stages)** — 5 stages — The classic pace: five days, calculated from the real route and the registered hostels. — See the plan

**[From Sarria in 6 stages](https://santiago.es/en/camino-de-santiago/planner/from-sarria-in-6-stages)** — 6 stages — One day less rushed, with shorter daily distances. — See the plan

**[From Sarria in 7 stages](https://santiago.es/en/camino-de-santiago/planner/from-sarria-in-7-stages)** — 7 stages — The most relaxed of the three, for a slower week on the trail. — See the plan

Need a different starting point, a number of days that isn't 5, 6 or 7, or a specific month? Build your own plan below — same real route, same registered hostels.

Pace

Before you trust the plan

The Xunta's public albergues don't take reservations and are handed out on a first-come basis, with priority for people walking on foot. In July and August it pays to arrive early at each destination, especially in Portomarín, Palas de Rei and O Pedrouzo, where the stretch sees the most traffic. If you still arrive late and find no bed, see [what to do if you run out of beds](https://santiago.es/en/camino-de-santiago/beds).
