It covers what you actually need on the ground: what to see and in what order, opening hours and ticket prices, the final stages of the Francés, Português and Inglés routes, where to sleep and where to eat, how to get in from the airport or the station, what is on over the next few days, and the 2027 Holy Year. It is not an official site. It has no connection to the city council, the regional government of Galicia, the Cathedral chapter or the Pilgrim's Office. Where a page uses a figure from any of them, it says so and links the source so you can check it first-hand. ## Who writes it It is written and signed by **Cesar Rodriguez**, from Santiago de Compostela. There is no anonymous content desk and no chain of travel sites behind it: one person publishes under their own name, answers the email and fixes what is wrong. [The author page](https://santiago.es/en/author) lists the public profiles, in case you want to confirm that person exists. ## How the facts get checked Every kind of figure has its source and its method, and they never change: - **Opening hours and prices**are checked against the official source —the Cathedral of Santiago, TUSSA, Aena, Renfe, Monbus, the Pilgrim's Office— and published as indicative, with the date they were last reviewed visible on the page. - **Camino figures**come from the Pilgrim's Office official statistics, with the reference year always in plain sight. - **Restaurants, albergues and shops**are an editorial selection. When a business confirms its details directly, its entry carries a «Verified» tag. When a place closes, it comes out of the guide. - **Events and liturgy**: the next seven days are pulled live from the city council's events feed and the Cathedral's liturgical calendar, several times a day. None of that makes the guide infallible. Hours change, prices go up, and official sources contradict each other more often than you would think. That is why every page repeats the same warning: **always confirm with the official source** before you rely on a figure for something that matters. ## How it pays for itself There are no ads, no banners, no sponsored content, no booking commissions and no affiliate links. No business pays to appear, and none can pay to have criticism removed. The «Verified» tag on a listing means exactly one thing —the business confirmed its own details— and it is not an advert. The site is funded by its author's work and the running costs: domain, hosting and tools. If that ever changes, it will be said here before anywhere else.
